Hello, my name is Sophia. I have loved cars for the longest time. I have a shelf full of different kinds of cars. This is my third year at a technical high school and I am taking up Auto Body as a trade. I abosolutly LOVE it! I don't find anything else more fun then working on cars. I espcially love to do body work. I do enjoy painting though, although I like to sand and apply Bondo much better. I'm thinking about going to an Auto Body/Automotive college when I graduate next year. I'm hoping to own my own shop, but I'm getting there.

Hello Mark,
Thank you so much for the web-sites! I will definately check them out! Thank you, I will ask you if I ever have a question or need some help on body work or any other old thing. I am recently making a metal patch for a rust hole in on the wheel-well. I'm working on a Honda Accord LX. The panel has a lot of rust damage, so it may take me a while to repair it, but I really do enjoy doing all the work. It should be done in about two to three days, hopefully. Then, I will prep the car for paint. It's going to be a lot of fun! Well, thank you again for the sites and your help. Talk to you later!  Smiley

Hi, I'm Daniel and I'm currently enrolled in an Auto-body program; I'll be done in June 2006. I have had a love affair with cars since I was 5-6 yrs. old. My dad's a mechanic and I can't hear well enough to do that so I chose the next best thing Auto-body.

I have been in the Collision Industry since 1979. This industry is no different than most in that you will get out of it what you put into it.  Work hard, pay attention, and train every chance you get.  There are so many opportunities for those that do the above.  Look at the career opportunities within the industry on this website.  Work in a shop, manage a shop, work for an insurer, manufacturer or supplier of collision repair products and much more.  It is your choice but in this industry the only one limiting you is you......

You will do well as long as you look what you do.  This industry has been very good to me alowing me to do everything I dreamed of doing.  While working in the paint shop I dreamed of working for a jobber/supplier.  I eventually did that for many years and in fact ended up managing several stores at one time a regional manager and then final the The PBE manager overseeing the entire operation.  Then I begin to want to get involved in training so I volunteered with i-CAR to help bring training to various markets.  I then became an I-CAR instructor all while managing a large operation of paint stores.  I had always dreamed of working for a paint manufacturer and now as the "teaching bug" had bit me I wanted to work for ap  paint manufacturer training students.  Well guess what?  I got my chance and ended up helping design an entire training program for a paint manufacturer including overseeing an application research department.  As I continued to get experience what I wanted to do continued to chance.  Once again the industry allowed me to follow my dreams. I evenually became an I-CAR regional manager and now I am Field Operations manager for I-CAR.  As I said in my first response work hard, pay attention to everything and make everything a learning experience.  Get all of the training you can and get to know as many people as you can within the industry.  Enjoy what you do, but if that seems to chance decide what you would like to do and the industry will be there to help you achieve it.
Good Luck the industry needs you!
