Here are a few ideas I've been working on:
I started a website in January
http://LearnAutoBody.com trying to network with other schools, students and the collision industry. I believe if we can find ways to get more students to this, collision careers website, the more interest there will be to pursue this career pathway.
Then I started a blog
http://bcrn.blogspot.com for my program. This blog is aimed for local use and awareness. Hoping to get more interest in my area.
We recently became a member of the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance. I believe this is going to be a real good move for our program.
This summer we are going to have a week (5 days - 7 hours a day) kids(6-9 graders) summer camp. We are going to make it fun, but we feel exposing them at younger ages may help solve low enrollment. We have some fun activities and field trips planned, but if anyone has any suggestions for middle school kids let me know.
Lastly, I've been mailing and visiting body shops to donate to the I-Car Education Foundation. I'm hoping to build a scholarship fund for potential and current students. However, I have not had much luck yet.
These are just a few ideas. What are others doing? Recruiting students for our program in the fall is my main priority right now. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
