Collision Industry Job Descriptions: Delivery Driver

Description

Drives to customer locations delivering parts and supplies. Responsible for timely delivery, unloading merchandise, and handling invoices. May be involved with warehouse operations including receiving inventory, stocking, and pulling orders.

 

Personal Characteristics and Skills

Must enjoy driving and working with parts. Needs good reading and organizational skills. Must be physically fit and able to lift, load, and unload heavy parts as needed.

 

Job Outlook

Inventory operations and delivery is an important part of a successful parts business and this position is critical toward that goal. A well-qualified competent person will always be in demand.

 

Pre-Employment Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are essential.

 

Earnings

As an entry-level position, earnings may start near minimum wages with increases dependent on performance. Benefits may include insurance, pension plans, and holidays.
