Description

Directs the activities of a sales team. Responsible for overall parts sales. Supports sales representatives, develops new customers, and opens new markets to achieve objectives.

 

Personal Characteristics and Skills

Requires good reading, math, science, and computer skills. Must enjoy working with people, working with technical products, and sales. Must have good writing, communication, and presentation skills. Must be self-motivated and comfortable working in an unstructured environment.

 

Job Outlook

As the number of vehicles increase, the need for replacement parts also increases. Every automotive repair business needs a reliable source of quality parts with good service, and on-time delivery. An effective sales manager that can motivate his representatives and increase sales will always be in high demand.

 

Pre-Employment Education and Experience

Business Management and 5-6 years of related sales experience are required. Understanding of automotive repairs and retail business operations are needed. Proven product sales and customer service skills are essential.

 

Earnings

This is a high-level sales position, requiring extensive experience and knowledge, and starting salaries from $60,000 to $70,000 are common.
