Collision Industry Job Descriptions: Delivery Driver

Description

Drives to customer locations, glass technician’s jobs, and warehouses to transport needed glass and materials. May be involved with warehouse operations including receiving inventory, stocking, and pulling orders.

 

Personal Characteristics and Skills

Must enjoy driving and working with glass inventories. Needs good reading and organizational skills. Must be physically fit and able to lift, load, and unload heavy glass inventory.

 

Job Outlook

Inventory operations and delivery is an important part of a successful glass business and this position is critical toward that goal. A well-qualified competent person will always be in demand.

 

Pre-Employment Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are essential.

 

Earnings

As an entry-level position, earnings may start near minimum wages with advancement dependent on performance. Benefits may include insurance, pension plans, and holidays.

 

Career Path

This is an entry-level position and can lead to learning how to replace glass and move into a glass technician position.
