Collision Industry Job Descriptions: Glass Customer Sales Manager

Description

Leads, directs, and supervises sales and services to glass customers including insurance companies. Achieves business objectives by working with Customer Service Representatives, glass customers, and additional sales opportunities. Provides administrative support to daily operations and update reports to business owners.

 

Personal Characteristics and Skills

Must enjoy working with people, numbers, and computers. Must be outgoing and have good communication skills to work in a sales environment. Must be a team player and work well with people, both customers and employees. Must be a self-starter to find new business opportunities.

 

Job Outlook

Strong customer sales are important to a successful business and this position is critical toward that goal. A well-qualified competent person will always be in demand.

 

Pre-Employment Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is required with advanced education recommended. Prior sales experience and a glass business background are preferred.

 

Earnings

Depending on location and size of business, earnings may start between $35,000 and $45,000 and increase with success in sales. Benefits may include insurance, pension plans, and holidays.

 

Career Path

This position can come from outside sales experience, but is better served after some experience in either the automotive repair or glass businesses. This position can lead to additional sales responsibilities or business ownership.

 

Continuing Education

Sales and management training is available through local seminars or schools. Technical training for glass replacement is available through I-CAR, glass manufacturers, and supply companies.
