Description
Responsible for sales and sales growth in large business accounts, including fleet operations, government departments, and education districts. Creates business plans by identifying target markets and segments then develops strategies to reach objectives. Manages the sales cycle for all assigned accounts, keeps current with new products, and works with manufacturer representatives to coordinate efforts.

With more vehicles and more miles driven every year, collision losses are inevitable and their repair requires specialized equipment, tools, and materials. Large businesses, fleet businesses, and government departments need to properly maintain large numbers of vehicles. They need a high level contact with material manufacturers for large contracts, product development, and problem solving. This will continue to be a high-demand occupation.
Pre-Employment Education and Experience
A business degree or equivalent plus 2-3 years of sales experience are required. Previous automotive aftermarket experience, specifically related to materials coatings, is desired.
Earnings
This is a higher level sales position, requiring extensive experience and knowledge, and starting salaries from $50,000 to $60,000 are common. Increased earnings follow increased abilities.
Career Path
This position usually follows from repair shop painter experience and subsequent paint material sales positions. There can be opportunities for advancement to larger territories, increased product offerings, and management positions. This experience could also lead toward ownership of a distributorship.
Continuing Education
