Collision Industry Job Descriptions: Material Handler

Description

Performs shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities by stocking new materials, filling and checking orders, and inventory maintenance. May involve customer deliveries, invoicing, and building maintenance.

 

Personal Characteristics and Skills

Requires good reading, math, and computer skills. Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads. Must be detail oriented and able to work in teams.

 

Job Outlook

Warehousing is an important part of the entire product supply chain. Materials must be moved quickly and accurately to satisfy customers and remain competitive. This will continue to be a necessary occupation and stay in high demand.

 

Pre-Employment Education and Experience

A high school education is encouraged. A proven record of excellent work habits is important.
